A new referee committee in Belgium

At the beginning of the 2017 season it has been decided that Belgium will get it’s own canoe polo referee committee.
We are looking for people to join this committee and work towards a higher level of refereeing & general professionalism of the sports.

Responsibilities of the committee

• The entire committee will automatically be the jury on all regular Belgian competitions (Belgian champs & Belgian cup).
• At the beginning of every season, main focus for education & rules enforcement will be decided by the committee.
• During the season, members of the committee can be asked to evaluate referee performance of division 1 referees. Most likely after several complaints or at random sporadically
• Committee members can organize local referee courses and update courses that count towards the update-rule (every referee should follow an update every 2 years).

People interested in joining should be available to meet 1 time per year (before season start) to discuss above points.
Besides this main requirement they can optionally volunteer to give courses (course material is provided) and/or do evaluations.

Requirement to join is a great interest in the canoe polo sport, preferably division 1 referee or higher and motivation to change things for the better.
We are specifically looking for 1 person in every region (players from Charleroi are more than welcome!).
